Who performs the septic work

Calls from this website are answered by an independent septic contractor serving Burlington and Chittenden County. This website does not pump tanks, transport septage, design systems, or hold a wastewater credential. Under 10 V.S.A. § 6607a, the company transporting septage for compensation must hold a Vermont Waste Transportation Permit. The contractor sets availability, the work included, scheduling, the disposal destination, and contract terms.

Calling, leaving voicemail, or submitting a form does not book a visit and does not create a field-service contract. The independent contractor must identify itself, accept the request, set availability, describe the work, quote or confirm the price, and provide its own terms. Any issue involving scope, payment, property damage, transport, disposal, workmanship, or a warranty belongs under the agreement between the customer and that contractor.

Ask for the company’s legal name and the Vermont Waste Transportation Permit applicable to commercial septage transport. A pumping visit does not approve a design or certify permit compliance. Vermont permit plans are prepared by a designer, and DEC or a currently delegated municipality handles the permit decision.

Vermont permits more than one lawful management route. Septage must travel under a Vermont waste-transporter permit to an authorized wastewater receiving facility or be managed through an ANR-certified residuals program. A contractor should be able to identify the route used for the load.
